Scotland’s drug deaths for 2020 were even worse than the catastrophic numbers for 2019 that finally prompted an emergency response by the Scottish Government. Police Scotland estimates for suspected deaths show that our overdose mortality rate – already the worst in the world – appear to have crept up even higher in 2020.
