A spaceport in the ­Highlands was approved by the ­ Scottish Government – despite fears that it will destroy precious bogs storing 400million tons of carbon.

The £17.3million rocket launch site in the Highlands is set to send small satellites into space by late 2022 after being given the green light by ministers last year.
