The SNP leader should be quizzed on the scenes at the Tory leadership hustings in Perth, Scotland’s drug death crisis and finances when she sits down with Graham Speirs, according to Scotland Matters.
The First Minister is due to appear ‘in conversation’ with Times journalist Graham Spiers on Wednesday. It follows a similar appearance earlier in the month with Iain Dale which was criticised by some for being an easy ride for Ms Sturgeon.
Now, Scotland Matters wants to see the SNP leader grilled on her failings at the Edinburgh event. In a statement, the group said: “Hopefully, he’ll do better than Iain Dale two weeks ago when he asked some good questions but didn’t follow up on her glib answers.”
The group, which is planning an online ‘day of action’ to coincide with the Fringe show, wants to see her take responsibility for the events at the Tory leadership hustings in Perth where attendees were abused and even pelted with eggs. They said: “Our first question is ‘do you agree the root cause of the shameful behaviour outside the Conservative hustings is your and your party’s continual grievance mongering about the UK and the Tories?'”
And the statement continues: “We’d also like him to dig deeper into the drug deaths issue, education and NHS waiting times. And how she can claim that Scotland ‘balances its budget every year’ when in fact our deficit – the difference between public sending in Scotland and the tax
