A 27-year-old woman who was killed in a crash after being pursued by another car was reportedly an ‘innocent victim’ caught up in a dispute over drug money.

Amy-Rose Wilson died and her boyfriend Ryan Paterson, 22, was injured after a terrifying high speed chase in Falkirk on Saturday.

Police Scotland are treating her death as suspicious and have launched a murder investigation.

The couple were allegedly involved in an altercation with the occupants of a black Mercedes C-Class shortly before they were chased by the same car for around half a mile.

Their desperate attempt to flee in a silver Vauxhall Vectra came to a devastating end when they collided with a black Volkswagen Tiguan and careered off the side of the road.

Ms Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene, while the Mercedes drove off without stopping.

A 39-year-old man who was driving the Volkswagen was also injured.
