New hospitals, roads and railway projects promised by the SNP are under threat as Ministers admit that they are running out of cash.

In an alarming development, the Scottish Government has announced that all future infrastructure plans have been paused while a review is carried out to establish whether or not it can pay for them.

The Scottish Mail on Sunday can reveal that a network of NHS treatment centres which Humza Yousaf promised would slash hospital waiting times have been shelved pending the review.

High-profile proposals to dual sections of the A9 trunk road could also be canned.
