Police are investigating after a Good Samaritan was allegedly kicked onto the tracks at a Scots train station.

British Transport Police say the incident took place at Shotts Railway Station shortly before 11pm on Friday, January 26.

The victim was attempting to assist a woman on a train who appeared to be upset.

But the woman and a man she was travelling with then reportedly assaulted the woman before kicking her onto the railway line.
