COPS are investigating threats against the Redcoat Cafe at Edinburgh Castle after its name sparked a row between Nats and rivals.
Police Scotland received complaints over crass posts on social media which allegedly called for violence against the venue.
It’s understood officers have since launched enquiries and that witnesses have been spoken to in relation to the sinister messages.
One post highlighted to police earlier this week, said: “This place deserves to be firebombed.”
The comment was posted by a Dr James McIntosh under the user name milvetpsych on X, formerly Twitter.
The account was deleted after the comment drew widespread attention and criticism for its extreme nature.
