Police Scotland recovered more than £122,000 worth of drugs from across Lanarkshire in just one month.

The force carried out multiple raids in areas including Bellshill and Motherwell in May where they discovered the illicit substances.

On Wednesday (May 15) officers seized cocaine from a premises on Clyde Drive, Bellshill, estimated to be worth over £21,000. A 33-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

The following day, two men, aged 22 and 41, and a 41-year-old woman were arrested and charged after a significant amount of cocaine was recovered from a premises on Milton Street in Motherwell.

The Class A drug has an estimated potential street value of over £69,000.

A further recovery was made in Motherwell at Wittagreen Crescent on Wednesday, May 22, where £14,100 worth of cannabis was recovered. Three men, aged 27, 29 and 51, were arrested and charged in connection with the recovery.

All seven people charged were released on an undertaking to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court at a later date.

Officers searching a premises under warrant on Winston Crescent, Blantyre, on Thursday, May 30, seized cannabis worth nearly £18,000. A 32-year-old man was arrested and charged.
