Arran is once again without its main ferry service after the vessel suffered another breakdown.

The MV Caledonian Isles was out of action for four months at the start of the year due to a technical fault, forcing CalMac to draft in a temporary replacement.

However, the boat has sustained another “technical issue,” according to the company, forcing all sailings on the Ardrossan to Brodick route to be cancelled.

MV Loch Fyne is currently operating a shuttle service between Claonaig to Lochranza, with the final sailings in each direction departing before 5pm.

MV Alfred has since been redeployed for Sunday, with the first journeys – which will be prioritised for displaced traffic from the previous days – set to begin from 11a
