A ferry service has been pulled less than 24 hours after its cancellation due to a steering fault after a repeat of the same issue.
The MV Maid of Glencoul, which connects Ardnamurchan Peninsula with the mainland across Loch Linnhe, was relaunched on Monday after a weekend-long repair operation to fix a fault with its system.
But Highland Council announced the link – which is operating in place of the MV Corran as it remains in dry dock – has now been terminated again due to the technical issue.
The local authority said it was treating the cancellation as a “matter of urgency” and engineers were working on the problem.
It means vehicles will be forced to take a near two-hour detour around the loch to reach their destination.
