Official data from Glasgow City Council shows that in the last year, there were almost 8000 reports, more than 150 a week.

The rodent spottings are divided into those sighted inside homes and outside homes and both have increased.

In total, there were 7948 reports of rats in 2022/23. It is an increase of 46% from 2018/19 when there were 5348.
