Females in North Ayrshire continue to have the lowest healthy life expectancy (HLE) in the whole of Scotland.

Figures for 2018-2020 published on Thursday, February 3 by the National Records of Scotland showed that females living in the region can expect to live in good health for 54.0 yeas, a decrease of 2.3 years on last year’s figure – 56.3 years.

Across Scotland, healthy life expectancy has dropped in the past year with the average healthy life expectancy at birth for males now at 60.9 years and 61.8 years for females.
