SNP chiefs were accused of “spinning” away a mental health crisis by axing the use of the term “rejected referral” for ill kids knocked-back for treatment.

The “cynical” change in language emerged despite experts telling the Scottish Government it should not be watered down – until they sort out the scandal of troubled children being turned away without proper help.
